therapy that helps you
reconnect
Couples & Women’s Mental Health Therapist
In-Person in Seattle & Virtual throughout Washington
Life has been asking a lot of you.
There are seasons when it feels like you're constantly holding everything together for everyone else — keeping track of the schedules, remembering the little things, anticipating everyone's needs, and carrying the invisible mental load that often goes unnoticed.
But inside, you're exhausted, overwhelmed, or slowly losing touch with yourself.
Maybe you've spent years pushing through because that's what you've always done. Maybe you've become so used to taking care of everyone else that slowing down feels unfamiliar — or even uncomfortable.
Whatever brought you here, you don't have to carry it alone anymore.
Maybe you’re…
the person everyone relies on, but you're not sure who you can lean on.
carrying the invisible mental load while quietly putting everyone else's needs before your own.
successful on the outside, but feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or like you're just pretending you're okay.
having the same difficult conversations with your partner without feeling heard or understood.
wondering when you stopped feeling like yourself.
longing to feel more connected — to yourself, your relationships, and the life you're building.
Therapy with Leann offers a space to slow down, understand what’s beneath these patterns, and work towards lasting change.
Hi, I’m Leann.
LMFTA, MS | she/her
I see you: you’re the person who has learned to adapt, achieve, and take care of others — but somewhere along the way, you may have lost touch with your own needs, emotions, or sense of self.
I help women and couples slow down, understand the patterns shaping their relationships, and reconnect with themselves and the people they love.
As a second-generation Asian American with Chinese and Vietnamese heritage, I understand the complexities of balancing culture, family expectations, and your own identity. As someone who is neurodivergent in a neurodiverse relationship, I also appreciate that no two people experience or move through the world in exactly the same way.
My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and understood. Together, we can make sense of what's been weighing on you and move toward more connected, authentic relationships.

Couples Therapy
You love each other, but lately it feels harder to feel connected. Maybe you're stuck in the same arguments, avoiding difficult conversations, or feeling more like roommates than partners. Perhaps one of you feels like you're carrying the emotional weight of the relationship while the other isn't sure how to bridge the gap.
Couples therapy helps you slow down the cycle, understand what's happening beneath the conflict, communicate more effectively, and rebuild emotional connection and intimacy.

Pre-Marital
Starting a marriage is about more than planning a wedding — it’s about building a strong foundation for the life you’ll share together.
Premarital counseling helps couples strengthen communication, explore expectations, and better understand the patterns each of you brings into the relationship. Through a focused 6–8 session series, you'll develop practical tools for navigating conflict, making decisions together, and entering marriage with greater confidence, clarity, and connection.

No, I am out-of-network with all insurance plans. I am private pay, which means that clients are responsible for the full cost of therapy at the time of their session.
While I don’t accept insurance directly, I can provide a superbill for you to receive out-of-network benefits, which means that the insurance company could reimburse you for a portion of our session cost. However, please note that some insurance plans may not reimburse for Associate licenses — please check with your insurance provider.
Wondering how to ask your insurance company about out-of-network benefits?
Call your insurance providers customer service and ask about your mental or behavioral health benefits.
“Hi, I’m looking to understand my out-of-network benefits for mental health counseling. Can you help me check my coverage?”Then ask questions like these:
Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health?
(This lets you know whether reimbursement is even an option.)What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met already?
(You often have to meet this amount before getting reimbursed.)What percentage of the session cost is reimbursed after I meet my deductible?
(This is usually a percentage like 60%–80% of the “allowed amount.”)Are there any limits to the number of sessions per year?
(Some plans limit visits.)How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement, and how long does reimbursement take?

What to expect in the intake session:
In our first session, we will spend the first 10-20 minutes going through welcomes, logistical details (informed consent and practice policies), and I will tell you about my process as a therapist. I’ll check in with you about any questions you might have. From there, we’ll start to discuss what brings you to therapy, and I’ll ask questions about your history (family, medical, relationships, etc.) to get to know you better. We’ll also discuss your goals and hopes for therapy.
For couples, I’ll see partners individually for sessions 2 & 3 so I can get to know the both of you better individually. We’ll then come back together for joint sessions moving forward.
What to expect in ongoing sessions:
In the initial ongoing sessions, we’ll continue to get to know one another and build safety and trust in the relationship. I’ll continue to ask more direct questions about your history and story to get a clearer sense of who you are and your goals for therapy.
The rhythm of sessions varies from client to client. Therapy is a space for you, so we’ll go at a pace that feels good for you. I won’t have an agenda as I’ll invite you to bring in what you’d like to work through — however, I may gently guide or challenge you based on your therapeutic goals.
You’ll leave some sessions feeling lighter and empowered, while other sessions may feel uncomfortable and hard as we begin to explore topics that you’ve previously avoided or discuss past or present traumas/griefs/patterns/etc. — going through this range of experiences is so normal to the therapeutic process, and we’ll go through it together at the pace of safety. Something I like to remind my clients is that therapy can be a place to talk about hard things, AND it’s also an amazing space to celebrate all your big and little wins! Therapy can be a space for whatever you need :)

Finding a therapist that feels like a good fit for you can be a challenging process — trust me, I’ve been there too! I understand that I may not be the right fit for everyone, and I invite you to have that conversation with me if you start to feel that way.
I want our therapeutic relationship to feel like a mutually good fit, so if one of us decides a pivot needs to happen for whatever reason, we can discuss what options are available, which might be: giving and implementing feedback, or I can refer you to another provider who might be a better fit for you.
I’ve found that I work best with clients who:
are committed to therapy and come to sessions consistently.
are ready to get curious and do the hard work of healing in and outside of session.
wants a therapist to directly (and compassionately) challenge you to grow.
wants a therapist who will be a human with you (yes, sometimes I will share bits of myself or laugh and cry with you!)
wants a therapist who practices in a non-pathologizing, systems approach — this means that I see you in the context of the family, societal, cultural, etc. systems that you have been a part of, and that I lean in with curiosity about your present thoughts, feelings, and behaviors rather than diagnosing it as a personal problem or flaw.
